About
My name is Isaac Yu.
By the age of 27 I have lived in six countries.
I have peered down from the highest peaks of the Grand Canyon and seen the raging waters of Niagra Falls.
I have traveled on dusty roads through the deep south and the heartlands of America, beginning in Phoenix, Arizona and ending in Toronto, Canada.
I have walked in the cool shadow of the Blue Mountains and felt the red earth of Sydney.
I have drifted along the clear waters of Milford Sound and seen the soft snows fall in Queenstown.
I have stared at the tower of skulls in the killing fields and the mass graves left behind in Phnom Penh.
I have climbed up to the mountain temples of Thailand in order to live life deliberately.
I have graduated from the seventh oldest international school in the world with its highest merit award and attended New Zealand and America's oldest public universities.
I have served as the Administrative Vice President of New Zealand's largest student association and written for the world's longest running capping show.
I have loved and lost so dearly that it has driven me to the darkest depths of grief yet I have emerged, unconquered.
I have battled the demons of depression and fought against the armies of doubt and fear.
I have grown up on the move in the wake of a broken home, chasing the dream of normality.
I have draft dodged and renounced my citizenship to my ancestral home and have lived, since then, in exile.
These are my writings, these are my stories.
